Welcome to my German Modena Page.
German Modenas are a rare breed and I have been breeding them for abut 8 years now. They are a very prolific breed and are a lot of fun to watch in the loft. I really like the Schietti's (selfts) the best, but also do enjoy breeding a few Gazzi marked birds as well. I'm working on a Magnani project now and have added a few pic's of the project for you to check out.

We have finally launched the National German Modena Club and it is starting to take off. I hope you enjoy this page and be sure to check out the club's web site.

Almond Roller Cock. He is heavy in the molt in this pic, but is a nicely marked bird.

Magnani Project
I have always liked the look of the Magnani's(almonds) and thought that I would try and create my own. I was able to run across a nicely marked roller cock that had a fairly rounded head to use for my project. I put him on a very good black hen. She was the mother of the 2005 Great Western Champion. Below is the results of the first cross and I think that he will be a big help to get me going. I figure that if I get the color and never go back to the rollers it will probably take about 4 generations to get a good one. Next year I am going to cross the F1 onto a nice Black Check and we'll see what happens.
